Sessions usually last for about 1 hour but initial assessments may take up to 2 hours.
I travel to your pet so that they are in familiar surroundings and at their most relaxed.
When you contact me I will ask some questions about you and your pet which will include your vets details so that I can obtain the necessary veterinary consent. If you would rather do this yourself please use the form below and bring it to your first appointment. Usually your vet does not require to see your pet, but there may be occasions when they do request to see them before giving consent for physiotherapy.
My assessment will start by taking a detailed history followed by a gait assessment. I use this information together with my findings from a hands on assessment to formulate a treatment plan. I am quiet and patient whilst working so the animal is as relaxed as possible.
If your pet is very nervous it may limit the amount I can achieve on the first session, however I believe it is best to give them a positive experience and usually after the first session they relax and enjoy subsequent sessions.
The treatment will be a combination of manual therapy, electrotherapy and exercises to target specific muscles.
I will email you a report of my significant findings and details of exercises which will help improve your pet’s musculature or movement. All exercise plans and advice are unique for each animal and owner. I may send a copy of my report to your vet if they have requested one and will contact them if I have found anything I think they should be aware of. I send you the before and after physiotherapy videos I have taken.
I welcome updates between visits and will be happy to discuss progress. I especially like seeing videos of how you are progressing.
